Dear Guests,

Welcome to DearGarrett.com.  This website is a book in progress.  The book is entitled, “Dear Garrett”.  Dear Garrett is written by a Dad to his Son.  I am the Dad, Garrett is my Son.
Dear Garrett is a legacy that a Dad wishes to give to his Son now and leave for his Son for later.  It’s a form of legacy that any Dad can leave for any Son. Dads learn a lot about life as they precede their Sons down its path. In this book, one Dad wishes to leave for his one Son an abundance of said learning in the form of stories, lessons and experiences that will serve his son well as he ventures further into his own experience of life.
All of the stories here are true.  On occasion, a name may be changed to protect the guilty.  The intention of telling said stories is for a Dad to communicate to a Son, “I made it through these experiences and you can handle yours too.”  Many experiences are similar in content, it’s only the form and intensity that will vary from person to person.
This book is unique in that it becomes published instantly — and the publisher is the author.  Once you click the “Save” button, the writing is published.  It’s very cool, no writing and waiting for years to get important truths and life experiences communicated and into the hands, eyes and minds where they’ll be most useful.  The book’s readers get to enjoy its content sooner making the substance more timely which can be especially helpful in more critical situations where some enlightenment and truth could prove helpful sooner rather than later or maybe not at all. Everyone has a story.
Sometimes a story is published for helpful use by others, more often stories go untold.  This method of telling and instantly publishing a story is one method as well as the quickest and easiest method available.
If you’d like to try this method yourself, please let me know and I will ask Rob Nason, our webmaster, to discuss our program with you.
I’m opening this book with a dedication to my Son, Garrett on his 21st birthday July 15, 2012.  It was through being Garrett’s Dad that I learned what I needed to know about the infinite love and endless care of God for Garrett and me and all of His created ones.
This book and site expand daily.  We hope you visit often to see what’s new.  We are glad you are here.

Thank you for coming…

            Mark (Garrett’s Dad)

Dear Garrett,
Dreams come in big packages so you can grow into them.  This website, DearGarrett.com, is one of those dreams. Check this website often and watch it expand.  Each time you come here, you will find new things to see and enjoy.

Dads like to build legacies for their Sons. Whatever legacy a Dad can leave for a Son, will last for a long time and will serve to benefit a Son as he matures from childhood to manhood then further into manhood as he follows his Dad through the aging process in this amazing and incredible place we call planet Earth.

Anything a Dad says to his Son is important.

It’s always good when a Dad can build his Son up into a man with encouraging words supported by healthy actions.

Following my dream of several years, I am opening this website on your 21st Birthday, July 15, 2012. Happy Birthday, Garrett — your official 21st birthday letter will succeed these opening words.

If no one were to read these words but you, it would be okay.  But I suspect that others will enjoy reading them also.  I’m sure that my daughter Amy, will enjoy visiting here from time to time.  Amy is the woman you have called “My Amy” — a most affectionate way of referring to the woman who lovingly and responsibly brought you into our world.  Todd and his family may enjoy visits here also.  Todd is the boy (now a man), that God used also to help bring you here.  I know Freddie will like coming here — she is the Mom who adopted you and I am the Dad.  Of course, we are your grandparents also along with Dave and Geri.  Let’s mention your brother, Colin and his family too — and the Watson’s.  There are a lot of people who love and support you including those we mention here as well as all your extended family members and friends too.  You are very loved, supported and adored, can you tell!?

It is my intention to add stories, thoughts, axioms, photos, videos, discourses, letters, prayers, articles and other things to this website weekly and often daily.   Anything I find that I think can help advance and support you successfully through life will show up here. We have a great friend, Rob Nason, who will help me build this site in a pleasing and substantive manner as he has done with our business website www.flyifr.com which, by the way, has sustained us financially since 1989, two years prior to your arrival here.

So keep an eye on this site — it will expand often — just like the universe and our lives constantly expand.  There will be many good and helpful things published and posted here.  In addition to you and your family members, others are welcome here also, to see how we are thinking and feeling about the life we are sharing with each other on our great and beautiful planet Earth.

Have fun on and in this site. I am glad you have this place to come  — and others too…

Love always,

Dad
